Dead Testing
Inactive circuit testing is done when circuits are without power, serving as their initial evaluation. These tests reveal the insulation quality of the circuits and ensure the uninterrupted flow in ring circuits.
- Checking unbroken protective paths.
- Ensuring unbroken paths in circular end circuits.
- Testing insulation resistance.
Live Cable Testing
After the circuits are powered up, they undergo live testing to measure the earth fault loop's impedance and to ensure the residual current devices are working. These tests show how quickly the circuit protection will kick in.
